Viral marketing is important, also for sushi bars. Sushi Hiroba is a place in Hollywood, Los Angeles, that made this cute video to promote their place. Maybe not the best acting performances we’ve seen, but the idea is funny. The music is great though.

I have not been very active on Twitter yet, but I have to say I like it. It gives me a heads up on a lot of things going on in the Internet business, and I get to read stuff that some of the foremost inventors of tomorrows online world is concerned with - as soon as they have read it. On top of Twitter and their feeds and open API´s, there are several of applications being built. Some of them useful. Here is one that is maybe not too useful, but fun to pay attention to - Foodfeed.
It is one out of at least five sushi bars I know of in the area, so I guess we have to go back up. This sounded like the favorite among many, though. We thought it was just ok.

But it is a neighborhood place and that is nice to have. I would say it also is a typical take away place, sitting there was not either pleasant or inspiring.

Well, she is cool, so we expected this. Fergie and finace Josh Duhamel hit up Katsuya (which we have a review on here actually) a couple of nights ago for some sushi.

Is it just me or is there always a speculation about them being pregnant when Hollywood women go for sushi. So also here, but according to the source Fergie says:

”I’ve never been pregnant and this is probably the 20th time people have said that. So, no, for the record! All I know is that I want to be married before I get pregnant. You’re only a fiancée for a short amount of time and you want to enjoy that moment so we’re just living in the now and enjoying that. I’m 5ft 4in and so when I gain a few extra pounds, it shows. I think people just love to speculate!”

Eat is quite a big restaurant in size, and it also looks quite cosy from the outside. The interior is inviting and it makes you feel like you want to go inside and give them a chance.

I just so want to know what the artist of this tag/graffiti piece where thinking when they made this. They were hungry probably, or at least became hungry. The photographer tells the story of the photo: “I was in L.A. visiting my grandmother. I saw this truck parked in front of her building, so walking up to the stairs I turned around to see if there was any graffiti on the other side of this truck, and there was! I loved it! The first thought that jumped onto my head was “This is what I call graffiti”. I asked the man if he knew the person who did this and he said “No, I don’t, they just came one night and gave me this free art” I laughed and asked him if he was going to remove it and he said “No, I’m not going remove it”

Wow. I just realized (from looking at my Google Analytics) that Sushi or Death are turning 1 year today! Wohoo! There are lots of reasons to celebrate - this is the 400th post, we just passed over 50 000 unique visitors, we’ve been mentioned on lots of blogs, linked to from the coolest sites, referred to in printed media and linked to from The Wall Street Journal, gotten to know lots of sushi fanatics from all over the world and eaten lots of really good (and some not so good) sushi! Lots of things I did not believe would be possible when I started up. It has been a great year!
Now what would the link between sushi and easter be? Skiing fish? Chocolate sushi bunnies? I searched around a bit and found these! Wonderfully painted eggs, decorated with sushi. I liked them. This Flickr user is painting a lot of things onto eggs.
Well. It was what I found. Enjoy.
And happy easter!

Try the cold sakes, there are so many to try and they are all amazing. I had such a good experience at Bozu from beginning to end that I find it surprising that anyone could find any fault. I would pay twice as much for the quality of service and meal.

Also, get the party bomb platter! You’ll love it.
This wonderful sushi t-shirt, depicting fighting sumo wrestlers fighting over the last maki piece. It is so popular that it is sold out in all sizes for men, but there are still some left for us girls. Yeah! I want one!

After a long wait on a not too busy evening, we finally got the waiters attention. The sushi bar part of the restaurant does not seem to get the main attention of the place. The fish was looking kind of lonely there in the sushi case.

We ordered a set menu between us - the sushi combo, which had both nigiri, sashimi and maki. In addition we had the softshell crab. And a sushi pizza. Just because it sounded so weird.
