I actually tried this once - to make car manufacturers logos as kazari makizushi. It was not easy, or at least - it was far from the level I am at in making these decorative sushi rolls. But this woman almost made it. “This is what happens when women with a peculiar attraction to seafood and automobiles bring out the sushi knife and the tuna.”

Now we are talking. We’ve covered lots of sushi cakes here, but this takes “the cake”!! Elisa Strauss is an actual cake artists and she has a Studio Art degree from Vassar and spent 4 years working for Polo Ralph Lauren. This video is from a segment of the PBS-series “is that cake?”, in which Elisa Strauss discusses her sushi cake. Absolutely stunning!

I love sushi. Really. I think most of you get that now. But to get any type of sushi or statements about sushi as tattoos? Not for me. Bold people. Or just dumb. The votes are not in.

Just print, cut and paste it onto your iPod. Too bad I am not using my iPod Nano much anymore, or else this would totally have completely covered my beautiful, black, sleak, Apple designed gadget with this… for like a minute.

Here is someone who is encouraging sushi meals by knitting your own! They sell this pdf-pattern that shows you how to make this 16 piece sushi set. It has a description on how to make your own cucumber roll, futomaki, inside-out roll, battleship roll, tuna nigiri, salmon, egg, clam, eel, crab stick, shrimp and octopus nigiri in addition to ginger, wasabi, inari and decorative grass.

Is Obama into sushi? For real? I know I posted this mock article back in the presidential race - a story from The NY Times showing the different candidates view on “sushi politics” in The candidates spin the sushi. I so want to link Obama to sushi, because I find it absolutely awesome that he is now the president in the US!
My son and husband are Americans so we were watching the inauguration on Tuesday almost with tears in our eyes. I think Barack Obama is going to be a great president! Not only for the US, but for all of us. I did actually manage to pin him to sushi. Here are the things that I managed to find! ![]()

Ah. Sushi stuffed animals, or more correctly - sushi stuffed cats! This very cute Nyanko cat sushi plush set is for hugging, not eating. The seaweed are also removable too, and the set is nicely packed in a clear plastic box with illustrated card at the bottom and the back. This is an absolutely super cute collectible item! Very limited and hard to get a hold of! The website that has these pictures says they are sold out.
