Mice are into more than cheese, we learned this from the Ratatouille movie. But so are hamsters. Similar to mice they are connoisseurs, they too probably have hidden chef potential and of course - they eat sushi! Meet Chmurka. She likes her sushi…

Ad for the Moshi Moshi sushi restaurant chain in the UK, where they claim to serve only the freshest of fish.
A true wasabi pea devotee. Mmmm. We love the green, fiery ones…

Another picture I found on Flickr! It looks like this Christmas tree is made of these fantastic plastic food display items they use in Japan. Beautiful! Here are some full sized photos of it:

“Download” a dinnerware set for one, is a suppose to be a comment on technology and our lives. The artist Yosoh says;
“I once saw a 1960’s science program that proclaimed computers would simplify our lives bringing a 4 day work week. I can only speak for myself, computers have had the opposite affect. Most of my meals are spent in front of the computer. The pace of our lives seems to be spinning out of control. “Download” is dedicated to the individuals whose dining companions are often their computers.

The movie “THE TEN” from David Wain I really want to see! I watched the trailer a several times now, but I still can’t figure out what it is about! I laughed all the time, though… This scene includes Rob Corddry from The Daily Show in jail dreaming about having sushi… Imagine being locked up and never being able to have it ever again!? No. Can’t do it. I guess that rules out becoming a criminal…

Having a sushi party? Check out this cool toy that came out this summer from toymaker Bandai Namco. It’s an automatic sushi roller–just put seaweed, rice, and your ingredients of choice in the little orange machine, turn the rollers, and voila! You have perfect, tightly rolled whatever-makis in a matter of seconds. The roller is meant to be a toy for 6-12 years old girls, but I guess it serves no harm for people who are looking for a fast sushi snack.

Now that Christmas is coming, I am trying to get in the mood… I found this very pretty Christmas Sushi, that was created by a Japanese girl that calls herself Ochikeron. She made this for a Japanese cooking contest called the “Sea Food Cooking Contest” back in 2006. Her blog is a collection of writings about her creative cooking and award-winning recipes created for food companies and recipe competitions in Japan.
This beautiful creation was made with minced tuna on top of sushi rice, coated with avocado paste and then topped with mayonnaise, scallion, and salmon roe for decoration. The star is made of cheese!

I love dogs. But I don’t have one. If I did - these would be my choice for a Christmas gift for it this year. “These adorable sushi-shaped dog toys are inspired by love for our pups and yummy sushi!” I think that if I was a dog, I would appreciate them for their colors and drool over them for what they are - chew toys.

Funny commercial again, not for sushi really, but for going to the tracks… We wouldn’t of course. We would rather have fun drinking warm sake and eating poisonous blow fish, right? “Sayonara central nervous system and where did they put my shoes…”

Another nice sushi themed cake for you guys. Have had too much proper sushi lately, so I needed something sweet again. The Baking Fairy is a girl from San Fransisco who bakes great looking theme and special occasion cakes. Among other things. But this one of course stole my attention. It is a inviting looking sushi set cake - on Flickr. Take a look at her beautiful cake at there:

A cool product for all of us Star Wars fans: R2D2 as a soy sauce dispenser! You put some soy sauce into his orifice, close him up, and then pour. Your sushi will be outer space like! But look! His powerful soy sauce weapon is creating gigantic storms down on planet earth!? Is R2D2 maybe the reason for global warming? And I always thought he was one of the good guys.

Sushi chef Taka fancies himself to be something of an advice-monger to the lovelorn. The downside is that his advice stinks. Mr. Taka here will always be Mr. Miyagi from Karate Kid to me, but he plays a lovely sushi chef too. Very cute short film.
