Bodylicious X and Bodylicious Y are pieces of ceramic plates made by the Japanese designer Hiroshi Tsunoda. It was according to his website inspired by Nyotaimori, a tradition where food is presented on the body of a naked woman (and much sought after here on SOD…).

Sushi is sweetened rice. Therefor this post is relevant…
And the rice paddies are so beautiful! Each year, in the town of Inakadate in Aomori prefecture, farmers create these crop art works.

I actually tried this once - to make car manufacturers logos as kazari makizushi. It was not easy, or at least - it was far from the level I am at in making these decorative sushi rolls. But this woman almost made it. “This is what happens when women with a peculiar attraction to seafood and automobiles bring out the sushi knife and the tuna.”

I just found a new favorite artist. Scott C. is drawing, painting and works as a director - AND he has imaginary sushi friends! His style is so cool that I had to buy a t-shirt before continuing on this post.
Here is what he says about himself (from his Flickr profile):

I just so want to know what the artist of this tag/graffiti piece where thinking when they made this. They were hungry probably, or at least became hungry. The photographer tells the story of the photo: “I was in L.A. visiting my grandmother. I saw this truck parked in front of her building, so walking up to the stairs I turned around to see if there was any graffiti on the other side of this truck, and there was! I loved it! The first thought that jumped onto my head was “This is what I call graffiti”. I asked the man if he knew the person who did this and he said “No, I don’t, they just came one night and gave me this free art” I laughed and asked him if he was going to remove it and he said “No, I’m not going remove it”

Here is a fantastic adverts for a local sushi bar in Canada. Yuzu Sushi in Quebeck used the agency Lg2 to come up with this one. An innovative use of a spare tire, don’t you think?

We found these cute drawings of a sushi eating vampire cat on a website called “The Argyle Academy”. It is the name of the school where Lionel, the Vampire cat and his friends (an octopus named Matthew, a little birdie name Alexander, and others) attend. A few years back The Argyle Academy decided they needed a web page that talked all about the school, and they asked Lionel to build one for them. He ended up making the site pretty much about him, and argyleacademy.com turned into his journal. The school staff is too nice to say anything to him about it.

Another picture I found on Flickr! It looks like this Christmas tree is made of these fantastic plastic food display items they use in Japan. Beautiful! Here are some full sized photos of it:

“Download” a dinnerware set for one, is a suppose to be a comment on technology and our lives. The artist Yosoh says;
“I once saw a 1960’s science program that proclaimed computers would simplify our lives bringing a 4 day work week. I can only speak for myself, computers have had the opposite affect. Most of my meals are spent in front of the computer. The pace of our lives seems to be spinning out of control. “Download” is dedicated to the individuals whose dining companions are often their computers.

A lot of sushi bars have a neon signs to signalize to us desperate night wanderers where we can get our fill. I have tried to understand how to evaluate the quality of sushi from the sign outside, but I think that I need some more experience from more sushi populated areas like the US or Japan.

I love playing the Wii! The EA Games MySims™ almost just arrived in Norway, so I have not yet tried it out. To celebrate the launch of MySims, EA Games commissioned four hot UK fashion designers to create a dual-purpose capsule collection.
The designs were to reflect the core values of the game MySims™ - self expression, customisation, creativity and collectability - when they created a dual-purpose capsule collection. Tatty Divine designed the My Sims Sushi Bag - designed to perfectly carry your Wiimote on the go, Tatty Divine’s exclusive bag takes design inspiration from MySim’s sushi chef, and features hundreds of glittering Swarovski crystals. The asking price will be £150…

Fish have feelings too. And memory that lasts longer than three seconds. And fish biggest fears are people like… eh… me. Sushi eaters. This is the poster of the Horror movie *SUSHI*… Ooooh. The artists says about the work:
“An old dawing again… ^^

“I like sushi” is a photoblog that I like to visit. Some of the images seems to be personally taken, others are sushi images I too have seen around online.
It was on this photo blog that I found the last “Sushi cake”, and this one is just as impressive. It really does not look like sushi. Looks yummy, though. Hungry now…
