Cosmo Thai and Sushi has been around for about a year, but it was only recently that I heard about this place. Weird really, considering their food and also quite stylish interior and restaurant look-and-feel. To cut it short - I really liked this place!
They are located just on the opposite corner from one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Oslo - Yaya’s in Aker Brygge.
We ordered the chefs choice and, which had a starter and a large mix of nigiri, maki and sashimi. The starter felt a bit too Thai inspired, and I don’t think it is a good thing to serve the guests (long) spicy food before sushi. Somehow I was thinking of this as a way of hiding bad fish, but when the rest of the food arrived it did not seem so.
The quality of fish was quite good. The sashimi plate with the special Cosmo sauce was really yummy! Also their maki rolls were crunchy and the nigiri sushi was the right size. All in all a good dinner! I felt it was a bit expensive, but the nice atmosphere, my favorite green tea and good company made it worth it. I will have to go back here!
One letdown - if you go to visit their website, you will be victim of some really awful auto-playing music…
Summary:
Great sushi bar. When in Aker Brygge looking for sushi - skip Sushi & Wok and go here instead!
