I thought I had been around a couple of blocks… but I had never even heard about a sake bomb before I saw it on a discussion board on good places to go sake bombing. It sounds like something you should to try out at some point!
The definition of a sake bomb (Wikipedia): The sake bomb or sake bomber is a drink made by pouring sake into a shot glass and dropping it into a glass of beer. Sometimes two chopsticks are placed parallel on top of the glass of beer, and the shot glass is balanced carefully between them. The table is then slammed with two balled fists, and the sake drops into the beer.[1] It is to be drunk immediately, and works best with warm sake.
This other website says: “A night of sake bombing guarantees a ritualistic, forced drinking marathon, perfect for large groups, or dates that will end shamefully sometime the next morning. Of course, it’s critical your go-to spot has low prices, above-average sushi and almost limitless free-flowing sake.” Here you also get some tips on where to go sake bombing in NYC.
If you are into that kind of stuff… ![]()

This is quite similar to a good tradition in the Royal Norwegian Navy; “Dypvannsbombe”, or Depth Charge in English. Just substitute the sake with Aquavit…..
Wow. I did not know that EITHER! God, I am so inexperienced with alcohol… Hmm. But you would know, Trond.
I am sure you are an excellent Dypvannsbomber!
