Happy Sushi has a crappy location, and I am sorry to say that their food was not much better. They say that their prices makes you happy, but I don’t rate sushi first on price and then on quality of food. That will probably just make you sick.
This is an old coffee place turned sushi bar, but not with any grace or genuine feelings for the tradition of making sushi.
We had the sashimi starter in addition to their happy maki. We also ordered california and the standard tempura and soft shell crab maki.
I got a bad feeling eating here. The fish did not look or feel right, and that is a bad start for a sushi experience. Their happy maki was a mix of scallops, with a spicy sauce and Ikura tasted a bit too Vietnamese or something.
On the bright side - the tempura and soft shell crab maki was not too bad, but overall - I don’t think I will ever go back here…
Summary:
Not pleasant experience. I think I will stay away from their fish. It could pass as a take away tempura maki place. Only. No. Not happy. Sad sushi…
