Mekong Cafè Bar is another of these “thai viet sushi places”. It is located at the top of Grünerløkka, competing with next door neighbours like “Sult”. The closest sushi bar I guess is Kitty sushi. Go there instead. My general advice is stick to food you are passionate about. Sushi is NOT just some rice with fish on top… Mekog Cafè Bar is not anywhere near my top sushi list.
The makis I got did not even stick together, the shrimp was not cooked and the rice way to sweet. Not good. Not good at all.
The people working there are very friendly, but the place itself is a dive. While I was there during typical lunch hour, people came to pick up their food - so it seem to be a locals place, but as a take-away. I will not bother to go back. Not for the sushi at least.
(iPhone photos again. I really wish that camera was better)
Summary:
Soggy, cheap sushi. Get something from their thai part of the meny to go if anything.
