I was very surprised by this place. It looks just like a hole in the wall, not very inviting, but came highly recommended by a friend that knows his sushi. And what a treat it was.
The menu was extensive, and the prices low, so you can pretty much eat all you want for around 200-250. I am not sure if they sell beer or not, but this is is not a place for long, romantic sit-down meals anyway, so the price will stay down because you are probably not going to add alcohol onto the tab. Sushi House is probably great for lunch and quick dinners on the run, though.
I don’t know how popular it is. We came in after gone shopping in Bogstadveien on a Saturday afternoon, and were completely alone. We did not get any company other than a few take away customers picking up their goods. I guess it is more of a every day place?
We ordered a moriawase menu in addition to my tempura maki. The presentation of the food was nice, a little better than normal take out places, and it fits the place really and since it tasted great, I kind of forgot about it on purpose. This man there says he has to imports a lot of his fish, I guess you have to to get proper fish in Norway…
I think his tuna came from Florida, the soft shell crab from Japan and the shrimps from Bangladesh. Well, it tells you he takes the quality of his food seriously. A great place!
Summary:
This is a great sushi place! Definitely the best take away place I have been to in town. I will definitely go back.
