We walked by Sushi King just on a Saturday for a quick lunch, because that was the kind of place it looked like. And it was. It is another typical hamburger place turned sushi bar.
The whole place smelled really bad, which the guy behind the counter explained to be from the fact that he was making sushi rice vinegar. But to do that at the same time serving people in this tiny place… Not pleasant. It did not make us want to try much of his fish, so we went for cooked and spicy this time.
We had tempura shrimp, salmon roe and spicy salmon maki. It was not as bad as expected, but it was not particularly good either. The presentation was ok, but the smell, the atmosphere and the general feeling just made you wanna leave. This is just down the street from Sushi House in Sporveisgata, and I would much rather have their lunch. And they did not take credit cards, so I had to run across the street to withdraw money from the nearest ATM. Just a hassle and with the typical “cheap sushi aftertaste”. Not a favorite.
Summary:
Just another take away place. And not a very good one. Go down the street to Sushi House instead.
