@all fellow wasabi-pea-addicts - Thanks for visiting and sharing your experiences! I have had a short break from the serious amount of peas I was eating some months ago (you know - boxes a day...), but the addiction seems to be back on track now... Need to go to the Japanese store and get me some! Yummy!

I will eat wasabi peas until my tongue is numb. I can't help it they are like a party in your mouth! I have never had any of these brands but I will be sure to try them when I see them... thanks for the insight!

I often eat the Kasugai peas with great pleasure (as do my work colleagues that sit next to me!) and we were wondering are they good or bad for you?

As the packet is in Japanese we don't know if they are fried, how many calories there are per 100g or how much fat is in them?

Can you help?

This post finally convinced me to try some peas. I've wanted to ever since I saw Jim Jarmusch's "Coffee & Cigarettes" which has a great sequence featuring wasabi peas.

The ones I've tasted so far are not on this list. I liked them, but think I'll prefer peas with more of the spicy wasabi taste, and less of the pea sweetness.

The next ones I buy will be off this list. Fo' sho' :)

The shop where I work has Imoto Toka Co., Ltd. wasabi peas. Ingredients: Rice Powder, green peas, wheat flour, wasabi powder, soybean oil, sugar, salt MSG, and several dyes. Tasty, crunchy, not very oily (in fact I had hoped that they were healthy, but then I read the back of the bag), and spicy, but not so much that one has to make the wasabi face (quite contrary to when I ate sushi bought from the cateteria and got overzealous with the wasabi packet - it was tiny, so I figured why not put it all in the soy sauce?).

I am used to the Khao Shong and Hapi ones. I like them a lot. Will try and find the top two from this list and try them out. Great post!

Good detective work!

You can't get many varieties in the UK but my favourite by far is Kasugai Wasabi Green Peas. Just the perfect level of spice/flavour/crunch.
