I have heard that Tuesday and Friday are suppose to be the best days for eating sushi and Monday the worst. Here is the reasoning behind it:
Tuesdays and Fridays are when fish is delivered to the restaurants. Monday is the worst supposedly, because the restaurants might be using the leftover fish from the weekend and possibly friday. You see some of the restaurants actually being closed on Mondays.
Thursday is also not the best fish day, because they are using the fish from Tuesday and Wednesday. Friday is another good day again. So there you go. It is Anthony Bourdain who talks about the hazards of eating fish in restaurants on Sundays and Mondays in his first book, Kitchen Confidential.
